L.A. Colors Retractable Chunky Lip Pencils, New Years Eve and Announcements!!!

*If you don't want to see the makeup section but you want to see the rest just keep scrolling until you see HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE! Thanks for still reading!*

Hey guys! Of course by the title, this isn't a "What I got for Christmas" post but, disclaimer I did get this for Christmas.
So, when I first heard that L.A. Colors had came out with their own chunky lip pencils I was pretty excited!
I saw this set at Rite-aid a few days before Christmas and I was with my mom. I was going to get it myself but I was saving my money for what my mom wanted for Christmas/ New Years (She wanted me to wait until her gift was on sale. She's so cute!).
So on Christmas day, BOOM! This was waiting for my in a holiday bag! (Thanks Mom!)
I'm going to show you hand swatches and lip swatches and tell you some information about this product if you are thinking about buying this. This is "Limited Edition" so I don't know if it will still be in some stores after the holidays.
Alright, LEGO!

If you are not familiar with L.A. Colors cosmetics then let me break it down for you.
L.A. Colors is obviously a makeup brand that is sold PRIMARILY in Dollar Tree, Family Dollar and Dollar General. If you don't know what any of those stores are then oh well sweetie I don't know what to tell you. You can also buy some of their products online at varies websites.
L.A. Colors is known for their low prices and pretty good quality makeup. Of course in every makeup brand there are hits and misses. This brand is good for people (I say people because some men wear makeup too. There is no judging here) who are starting off with makeup for the first time and they don't know what to get or for people who are on a tight budget. Their prices range from $1-$5 so it's very affordable. I used L.A Colors when I first started using makeup because
1) I needed it for shows
2) I didn't like to spend a lot of money on makeup
L.A. Colors is now getting more hype about their brand so they are now getting on the makeup trends.

Now let's talk about this set.
This cost $4.99 at Rite-aid but it was on sale for 25% off so that made it $3.74! If you bought any of their products at Dollar Tree you know it would be $1 for each lip pencil which is still awesome but 6 lip pencils for $3.74! I wanted to buy all of them! Even at $4.99 is still an awesome price.
I took them out of the box to start putting them all over my face of course, being the makeup junkie that I am, I noticed that there weren't and shade names on them. Weird. So I went online to see if I could find the shade names or if they sell the same shades but separately so I can at least go and see what the shade name is. Come to find out they do sell stand alone retractable lip pencils but not in the same shades as in the set ALSO, there is another set with more berry toned colors. Now I need to hunt that other set and all the other lip pencils down! The reason I said this is because I'm going to number each shade and try my best to describe because the pictures look odd.
Once again, LEGO!

(This is in order)
#1   #2     #3    #4     #5     #6

Shade #1
This is a nice baby pink color for anyone who is lighter than me. It looks very light against my skin color so I will probably not wear this color at all. This lip pencil is pigmented but it's very drying. If you don't mind the drying effect then this is a great matte pencil but I would put on some lip balm first and then the color. I noticed that the lighter shade are very drying.(All hand swatches are pretty true to color)

Shade #2
This is a darker baby pink that is a little bit more wearable for my skin color but still on the bit light side but, nothing but some lip liner can fix that. Same with Shade #1 it is very drying so you might want to put some lip balm on before hand.

Shade #3
This is a true red which is awesome because I really love red! The more colorful shades are moisturizing which this shade is. No need for lip balm because it can make this shade sheer out. Trust me, I know. Since it has some moisture it will have a slight sheen to it which is pretty nice but, if you are a matte lover like me then you would have to make this matte with some loose translucent powder.

Shade #4
This shade is a little more purple but very wearable for me. Just like Shade #3 it is moisturizing and very comfortable for me to wear. It has a pink undertone which I like because I LOVE pink! My favorite color! Once again, no need for lip balm unless you want a sheer color.

Shade #5
This looks pretty light in the picture but this shade is a pretty nice nude on me. I just need to use a lip liner that is my lip color to make it work a little more. This is the last color that is pretty drying so lip balm it up girl!

Shade #6
This last shade is my favorite! It looks the same as Shade #3 on the lips in the picture but it has more of a berry tone to it. This is also moisturizing and very comfortable.

I know this is long but there are a few things left that I want to say.
HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!
2014 is coming to an end and I am happy. Not because this year was bad in fact, it was amazing! It had it's ups and downs but overall I loved 2014! I hope that everyone had a good year and if not, just think about the time you smiled the hardest this year. Think about the time you laughed the loudest this year. Who was around you? Where were you? Were you happy?
Just think about those times and it will make you feel better about 2014. I know that some things aren't as easy to shake off. My Grandmother passed away 2 days before my 18th birthday this year and I never got to see her or tell her bye. But I'm not going to let something like that that was going to happen mess up 2014. There was so much drama that happened this year too that it was crazy! But I didn't let it stay with me this year. I think about all the good times. The times when I laughed so hard that I got a headache. I got lifetime friendships that I know will stay. I reconnected with old friends from elementary! That has never happened to me before and I thought it was never going to happen!
For 2015 I really don't have resolutions, more on the end of goals.
This year in 2015 I am:
Going to take care of myself mentally, physically, emotionally, internally, externally
Stay Positive as much as possible
Forgive myself anything that might happen

Keep in mind that you never really know where you going to be a year from now. You can make plans all you want but something might change and you need to go with the flow and stress so much about it.

Almost done! Just one more thing. I now have a schedule that I am going to stick to for Youtube and this blog! On Monday I will post a video on my beauty channel. On Wednesday I will post right here on my blog and on Friday I will post a video on my main channel! I'm really excited for this! Also I do have on more goal. I would like to get 100 subscribers on both of my channels by my birthday which is August 14th so we do have some time but here are the links to both of my channels:

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I know it was long but I do thank for reading and I hope you join me on my journey by subscribing to my channels. Thank you so much and good luck in 2015!

Ok so bye

What makes me mad about Snapchat

We all love Snapchat. I love Snapchat! The fact that I can send ugly pictures with text on them to my friends instantaneously makes me happy! Of course everyone is familiar with Snapchat Story, the fact I can post my ugly pictures for all of my friends to see and it won't disappear as soon as they are done is great! But of course, there are somethings people don't like about certain things. So I'm going to tell you what I don't like about Snapchat.

People sending me the same thing that is going to be in their story!
Like, why? Why are you sending a picture that is going to be in your story as soon as I am going through everyone's story! When I see your username pop up on my notification bar I'm going to assume that, A) You want to talk to me or have an ugly pic off via Snapchat, or B) You want to send me something like an insider that would make no sense to anyone you have on Snapchat. Don't send me a pic that everyone is going to see later! That doesn't make me feel special! Especially when I know that you are going to send that same picture to EVERYONE in your contacts AND add it to your story! Do not send me your WHOLE day.Who do you think I am? I am NOT that excited to see what you do all day!  That's what the story section is for. To post your entire day and everyone will see it because it won't go away for 24 hours if we don't watch it. Just save it for the story because when I get in my bed to go to "sleep" which in reality means I'm going to be on my phone for hours going through Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, and Snapchat I will see your entire day and feel bad about myself because you're life seems awesome and all I did was stay in my room and eat Hot Cheetos all damn day!

Android always gets the update after Iphone!
Just because it's an Iphone doesn't mean it deserves everything first! I know that Iphone was the first system of it's kind to come out and they needed to understand how to make things works for the Iphone system and then Android came out and they had to understand that system but after so many years of both systems being out ya'll should know they how both work and Iphone doesn't always have to have it first! I'm not only talking about just updates, I'm talking about apps that are just releasing too! I remember when everyone was obsessed about Temple Run and I was too. I would play that game any chance I would get. One day I found out that there was a Temple Run 2 from one of my friends. So I whipped out my phone and was going to download the game but guess what, IT WAS ONLY OUT FOR IPHONES! Like really bruh? Iphone's are just old versions of Androids. Just saying (shots fired). So here I am with all of my friends that have Iphones, Ipods, and Ipads playing the game and all I can do is sit there watch and wait a few weeks until Android finally gets it. So, back to Snapchat. About a week ago (does shmoney internally) one of my friends was showing me that Snapchat updated of course, Iphone first, and she was showing me how she can now enlarge text, rotate the text, change the color of the text and change the size of emojis. I was a lil mad about it but, I knew that all I had to do was wait and I would be able to do the same thing and send over size emojis to everyone!

Snapchat has crappy filters!
Ok, maybe it's just me and I'm so ugly that I need a separate photo editing app that has filters and Instagram filters to make me look like a normal human being but Snapchat needs to step up their filter game. I only have about three filters to choose from and they look weird. Nobody really uses them anyways. The filter I see that is used the most is the black and white one because sometimes some people, like me, want to look like an old photo that traveled time and is now invading modern technology. But for real, I need Rise to help me get some demons that rest upon my face to disappear for this selfie that I think is going to look cute. Snapchat. Step yo game up!

Snapcash...Really?
We don't need to bring money into this. This is for pictures and videos not to send money to people. At first when I saw Snapcash I thought that It was a cute effect that you can put on your pictures that you can send to a friends and once they view your picture it would rain money on the picture (cute, right?). So I was going to "send" one of my friends some "money" thinking that it was just a fun effect that you can send to your friends but instead it took me to another page saying that before I send "money" I had to setup an account. What? This is real?!?! I can send money to people on Snapchat?!?! That's stupid! Who would want to send anyone any money through Snapchat? I would rather PERSONALLY get the money from that person or give it them or use the banking apps that you can now download. I really want to know who actually uses this feature and is it really worth using?

Well, that's all I have to say about Snapchat. All in all, I love Snapchat. It's a great app and if you don't have one then you should get it.
Also today is Christmas Eve! I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I hope y'all have an amazing day with your family and enjoy every minute of it!
And if you don't celebrate Christmas then Happy Holidays!

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show! (Not a Review)

Ok so I know this post is late because the show already came on and the world saw it so you know how it is. First off, this was my first time EVER seeing the Victoria's Secret Fashion show. I know crazy! Every year that I wanted to see it I miss it because of the number 1 reason, I didn't know what channel it was on...ALSO, I never knew when it came on. Freshmen and sophomore year I would always hear everyone (mostly the guys) talk about the show and I would be so mad because I didn't know that it was on the night before! So this time me and a friend were shopping and we went into Victoria's Secret store and she bought some stuff AND while she was buying her stuff I asked the cashier when the show was coming and what channel. BOOM! I finally saw the show and I really liked it.

For a long time I've been seeing memes like these:

These very relatable and funny but to be honest when I was watching the show I didn't feel like this. I actually become inspired by the show. Weird right? I just see it as these women have beautiful bodies and faces and what not but, i'm cute too! Well, at least I think I am. I also think that these women worked hard to get that job by getting their body right and I don't really NEED a body like them because I love myself. Of course I can workout and eat better to take care of my body and as i'm typing this i'm eating chocolate cookies.
Meh.

I just wanted to say that you should just love your body for the way it is and if you don't then you can change it. It will be hard work and don't give up because I love you!!!
Sorry this was so short. I wanted to say a lot more but I drank coffee and now my stomach isn't feeling right, so imma go and fix that and you can go ahead and watch my latest video on my comedy channel because you get to see my dance like an idiot and the video is very relatable and it's pretty funny. STAY AWESOME AND POSITIVE!!!

Okay so bye!

De-cluttering My Makeup

Hey guys! I decided that I need to get rid of some makeup products their either old of expired and keeping expired makeup is gross and keeping makeup that I don't like just to have a big collection is lame. I'm getting rid of 12 products and I wanted to show you guys those products and tell you my HONEST opinion about them.

 E.L.F Mineral Face Primer
I'm throwing this away because...IT'S EMPTY! I love this primer and I have two back-ups but I completely forgot that I still had this bottle so this is going BYE BYE!

Rimmel London BB cream in Medium/Dark
I just discovered that this BB cream expires this month. I don't exactly when (then again, who really knows?) but I don't want to that a chance so i'm throwing it away. I really liked this product. It's gave me a natural finish and I didn't know that until show of my friends were staring at my face (weird) and they were complimenting my skin. So, claps to this BB cream!

E.L.F Lip Exfoliator
I used to use this every day, in fact, this is my second tube. For some unknown reason I stopped using it. I was going to start using it again but, I smelled it and it now smells like play-doh. It's suppose to smell like coconut or a bakery not play-doh. So of course that means it's expired. I'm going to buy another one though.

L.A. Colors 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Traditional
This was one of the first makeup products that I bought when I was becoming serious about makeup. I really loved this palette! As you can tell I hit pan on most of the colors. For a dollar I feel this product is perfect for a beginner. As you can see some of the colors are pretty pigmented and the rest are good blending colors but I'm getting rid of this because it's old and the lid comes right off (seen in pic 2) and I can always get another one.

E.L.F Essential Brightening Eye Color in Butternut
This is one of the first E.L.F products I ever bought. It looks like I haven't used it but trust me, I have. I think I used this before the L.A. Colors palette. This was an easy palette for everyday or if you're in a hurry. This is old so i'm getting rid of it and I have a backup of this one.

L.A. Colors 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Supernatural (weird name)
Once again, this was one of the first products I bought and I don't understand why I bought it. All of the shadows soft and pigmented but there's only one problem, I don't wear blue! This palette has been sitting in my collection for years and I haven't used it at all! I do have some blue shadows and ill just use those instead of this.

Beauty Treats Love Heart Eyeshadow Palette
I bought this yet again when I first started makeup and this is one of those palettes that you can buy at a clothing store and they sometimes have makeup products there that you can buy. So, I bought because I thought it was pretty but, I didn't really use it because it's not really pigmented. As you can see in the third picture there are only a few colors that have some pigmentation and I just kept it for sentimental reasons. I say if  you're starting with makeup you should skip this palette but, their diamond eyeliner is awesome!

E.L.F Duo Eye Shadow Cream in Butter Pecan
I used to use this under my eye shadows to make them pop and this was amazing! Even today it's still creamy and pigmented! It's going bye bye because it's old just like everything eles lol!

E.L.F Smudge Pot in Pearls of Wisdom
So something weird happened with this product. I ordered this a while ago (I don't remember) along with another smudge pot in Back to Basics (which I LOST!) and I swatched them both. Back to Basics was nice and creamy and pigmented! But Pearls of Wisdom was kind of dry. I kept it and kept fighting with it but then I decided throw it away but, before I did I cut into with tweezers to see how dry it was and it went in like soft cheese! I started stabbing it and under it the hard layer it was creamy! WTF! Now since it's all chopped up i'm throwing it away. I'll just buy a new one.

E.L.F All Over Color Stick in Pink Lemonade
I know it looks weird but here's what happened. I twisted up the product all the way to see how much i had left and I couldn't twist it back down and I couldn't put the cap back so I just put the product in this container but, because I put it in here I completely forgot about it and it just got old. I used this as a blush base and it was awesome. Also a great lip color for something really quick.

Icing Conceal & Brighten Palette
I do not like this product at all! I feel that the pink and green product that is in most palettes now are a gimmick. Maybe I'm not using correctly. I just feel like the green just stains the face green and I don't see how it cover red. I don't understand what the pink is suppose to do. That's not the only reason why I don't this palette. The concealers actual aren't really good.

Covergirl Classic Color in Soft Mink
In the second picture the scary thing in the mirror is me (I wear glasses sometimes). Ok, a friend gave me this product because she felt it didn't look good on her skin so she gave it too me. This product is pretty old and I forgot about it so it's going bye bye.

Ok, so that's all products are that I'm getting rid of for now and I really needed to.
I hope you enjoyed reading and thank you for reading!
Ok so bye!

Movie Review! Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B

(Note: This is NOT Aaliyah. This is the actress Alexandra Shipp that played Aaliyah in the movie)

Okay this is my first ever review so just bare with me.
On November 15th was the premier of Lifetime's Biopic of Aaliyah. When I found out months ago about this movie I freaked out! I actually almost cried.
So a few days before the movie premiered I was on facebook and people kept posting how the movie wasn't going to be good because of the girl they chose the play her. I was reading some of them and I said to myself , "I should just watch the movie for myself and see what I think about it." I didn't get to watch the first  showing of the movie because I wasn't home, but I did watch it when it came on again at midnight but, before I saw it I saw more post saying that the movie sucked. I still didn't let that phase me, so I watched it.
Overall, to me, it wasn't that bad. It could of been better and here is why:

A lot of people had a problem with the actress they chose. At first Zendaya Coleman was chosen to play Aaliyah but, she dropped out of the movie because of reasons (I think it was because she didn't think the movie was going to be good or something like that) So Alexandra Shipp was chosen for the role. People were saying neither Zendaya or Alexandra looked like Aaliyah. First, it was the skin color. Aaliyah wasn't dark, but she wasn't light, she was some where in the middle, but you couldn't tell until you have comparison pictures.

The gorgeous Aaliyah

Zendaya and Aaliyah

Alexandra and Aaliyah

Of course with different lighting and the camera flashes skin color does change a bit but my point is I see where everyone is coming from. For some weird reason if there is a movie going to be made about someone and they are some what light-skinned Hollywood always picks an actor that is lighter then the actually person. I don't know why it's like that, but I feel like there are some many factors that goes into picking someone for a role and we may never know all of the factors that went into it. So I understand why something like skin color wouldn't be as accurate as the public wanted it to be.
For the way the actors looked, I feel that they could of found someone that looked more like Aaliyah, but when they are put in the same clothing (well not the EXACT same) as Aaliyah they looked pretty good to me.

Zendaya and Aaliyah

Alexandra and Aaliyah

Another big reason why nobody really liked the movie was because they didn't reenact any of Aaliyah's music videos. That may not be an obvious reason, but if they did that the movie would get a lot more positive feedback. Just like Crazy, Sexy, Good: The TLC Story that premiered on VH1 staring Keke Palmer and Lil Mama reenacted some of TLC's music videos. The reason they didn't do it was because Aaliyah's parents didn't want to give them the rights to use her music, so they couldn't even use her songs which meant Alexandra had to sing the songs herself and she did a beautiful job. She didn't sound like Aaliyah but she sounded amazing! To be honest, I was hoping that they were going to reenact one of her music videos, but they were able to reenact her live performances which I've never seen before. (Note: I was 4 years old when she died)

People felt like there wasn't a 90's feel to it and honestly, I didn't feel it either. Even the other characters that played R. Kelly, Missy Elliot, and Timberland didn't even look like the actual people. (I'm not going to look for the pics of them because I don't care) At the same time I wasn't paying attention to the atmosphere of the movie, but if I don't get that feeling from the movie without having to look for it then it wasn't there.

I feel like that the movie mistakenly portrayed Aaliyah. Of course, I don't know what her life was like, hence the reason for this movie, but I think they made her seem like she was just a workaholic. Now, of course, I could be wrong and she probably was a workaholic, but I feel like she was more playful in her life. I do understand why it was like that though. She died young, so there wasn't too much of her life that was exposed to the public. If it was someone that has been in the entertainment industry for many many years then they would be able to get into more detail and be more accurate with the movie. I also feel like the movie was told through the eyes of other people and their memories which makes sense. Of course, in every scene there was someone there that had that memory with Aaliyah. I don't know if they sat down with the people that was with Aaliyah through her lifetime (lol get it) but I like to think that they did. So if they did then whatever scenes that was Aaliyah and her mom it was told through her mom. If it was her and her dad it was told through her dad. If it was her and R.Kelly then it was told through R.Kelly.

I wonder how R.Kelly felt when he found out that she died. Like how she felt when she found out that he got married. I wonder if he still loved her.

Overall, I feel like that they did the best that they could with everything that was going on. If you haven't seen the movie yet and you would like to see it and have your opinion then here are the times:
Monday (today): 8:00pm
Tuesday: 12:02am (weird timing)
Saturday: 6:00pm
On Lifetime

In January there is going to be a Biopic of Whitney Houston. I think that a lot of people aren't going to watch it because of this movie and to be honest, I don't think it will be good but I'll watch it and do a post like I did this one.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post because I had fun making it! Tell me what you thought of the movie.
Okay so bye!
